Call for Papers, Pacific International Politics Conference

After the notable success of the first annual conference in Kyoto, Japan, the organizers would like to announce the second Pacific International Politics Conference (PIPC), formerly known as Pacific Peace Science Conference (PPSC), has been scheduled for Seoul, South Korea, 1-2 July 2017. In response to feedback at the 2016 meeting, the organizers have chosen to change the name of the conference in order to extend participation in the conference to scholars from other subfields of international relations, such as international political economy (IPE).

Paper and poster proposals are now being accepted. Proposals addressing any aspect of the rigorous study of security, IPE or international institutions are welcome. Papers focused on the improvement of social science theory as it relates to international relations are encouraged, particularly but not exclusively quantitative research. Especially encouraged are papers dealing with the international politics of the Asia-Pacific region, and/or by researchers based in the region. The deadline for submission is Wednesday, 15 February.

The conference is hosted by Yonsei University, in the center of Seoul. Seoul is the capital of South Korea and a leading and rising global city.  Yonsei, one of Korea’s top universities, is the oldest private tertiary institution, founded in 1885.

We hope that the Pacific International Politics Conference will develop a forum for scientific researchers of IR in the Asia-Pacific region.
